TotalEnergies addition strengthens Deepwater Development Conference’s advisory board

HOUSTON, TX (Dec. 5, 2024) -- The Deepwater Development Conference (MCEDD), the flagship event for innovation and collaboration in the deepwater oil and gas industry, is pleased to announce an addition to the MCEDD board from Total Energies.

MCEDD will be held from March 25-27, 2025, in Madrid, Spain, with Repsol as the Host Sponsor. Mayela Rivero, Deep Offshore R&D Program Manager, will represent TotalEnergies on the advisory board, joining companies including Repsol, bp, ENI, Petrobras, Shell, and SOCAR.

As an industry leader, TotalEnergies continues to lead the charge in sustainable innovation. With Ms. Rivero at the forefront of its deep offshore research and development efforts, TotalEnergies has consistently delivered technologies that enhance operational efficiency, reduced costs, and minimized environmental impacts.

Organized by World Oil and Petroleum Economist, MCEDD will unite the global deepwater community for three days of high-level strategic insights, technical sessions, and networking. Attendees benefit from in-depth technical sessions, presentations from industry thought leaders, and exposure to innovative solutions that address the challenges of deepwater exploration and production.

"Having the head of R&D for Deepwater from Total Energies, Mayela Rivero, is an honor and will make a big contribution to the quality of content we can offer to the global deepwater community,” said John Royall, President and CEO of Gulf Energy Information, the parent company of World Oil and Petroleum Economist. “Their expertise and leadership, combined with Repsol’s role as Host Sponsor, reflect the values of innovation and collaboration that drive the conference’s success.”

Ms. Rivero leads a team of 60 contributors at TotalEnergies, advancing technologies that enhance the operational performance of both brown and greenfield offshore developments. Her career spans roles at ADNOC Offshore, TotalEnergies, and PDVSA, where she spearheaded projects across Suriname, Africa’s Gulf of Guinea, and the Middle East.

The MCEDD advisory board, comprising leaders from global operators, service providers, and regulators, ensures MCEDD remains the premier event for addressing the latest trends and challenges in the deepwater sector.
