John Thomas Royall has worked in or managed business-to-business information media and events for the last thirty years. Since April 2009, John has been President & CEO of Gulf. During that time, he has guided the transformation of Gulf from a traditional publisher to a company delivering information through its various brands via publications, online media, events, and data.
Royall is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with graduate studies at the University of Munich and George Washington University. He has also attended executive training in the Reed Elsevier Global Publishing Institute and Euromoney’s Executive Training at Churchill College of Cambridge University. He serves on a number of boards, including the IPAA/PESA Education Foundation and the Oilfield Christian Fellowship.
His wife of thirty years, Patty, and he live in The Woodlands, TX. They have three children and three grandchildren.
Jon Montgomery is a Vice President at Main Street Capital and is actively involved in the firm’s sourcing, structuring, due diligence and execution activities in addition to portfolio company oversight. Prior to joining Main Street, Jon served as Manager of Corporate Development at Rubicon Oilfield International, a global oilfield products manufacturer backed by Warburg Pincus, where he worked closely with senior management in the execution of the company’s global acquisition strategy. Prior to Rubicon, Jon was an Associate at Pelican Energy Partners, a lower middle market private equity firm, where he was involved in the evaluation, execution and management of investments in the energy service and equipment sector. Jon began his career as an Analyst with Simmons & Company International in its energy service and equipment investment banking group. Jon graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Business Honors.
Jesse E. Morris has served as Main Street’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since July 2019. Mr. Morris previously served in various roles of increasing responsibility with Quanta Services, Inc. (NYSE: PWR), which provides specialty contracting services to the power, natural gas and telecommunications industries, including most recently as Executive Vice President – Finance and President – Infrastructure Solutions from 2018 until July 2019. In this position, he oversaw the accounting, treasury, tax and financial planning and analysis activities and led Quanta’s public-private partnership (P3) concession and private infrastructure investment activities. He previously served as Quanta’s Executive Vice President – Corporate Development from 2014 to 2018. Prior to joining Quanta, Mr. Morris served in various financial and accounting positions of increasing responsibility with Sysco Corporation (NYSE: SYY), a global distributor of food and related products primarily to the foodservice or food-away-from-home industry, from 2002 through 2013, including as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer – Foodservice Operations and Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer – Broadline Operations. His responsibilities in those positions at Sysco included the oversight of financial and accounting matters for field operations and corporate financial planning and analysis matters. Mr. Morris began his career as a certified public accountant with Arthur Andersen where he advanced to experienced audit manager.
